Trip to South Coast Garden Botanical Gardens, Palos Verdes, California
About a week ago, I finally visited South Coast Botanical Gardens – about 14 miles south of my home in Gardena – and snapped a couple of shots. Many of the flowers are spring-blooming here in California, now. We had an especially “cold” winter — by So Cal standards — so “spring” really feels like a new season.

More images here from the trip.
I must say, I prefer the colder seasons. Growing up in the Midwest (U.S.), the fall and winter months brought a welcome relief from the muggy summer and summer-bordering months. One can always dress (bundle up) for the cold, but not really the other way around.
Oh … and for all you life-extensionists out there: cold preserves!
