How much warmer could the Earth become from global warming?

Some computer models of global warming estimate it is conceivable that the world wide average temperature could rise by up to 9 to 11°F within a century or two. This change is of the same magnitude, but in the opposite direction, as the cooling that, over thousands of years, produced the ice ages. Carbon dioxide emissions from human-caused combustion is a major cause of the possible “global warming” phe nomenon. Methane gas (CH produced by sources as diverse as rice paddies and termite colonies) is another contributing factor.
