What evidence is there against global warming?

The newspapers have also been filled with many accounts of weather extremes that do not appear to support the global warming hypothesis, but rather satisfy the predictions of those claiming a new ice age is about to begin. A small sample:
A cold wave swept northern Europe in late 1995, bringing the coldest readings in a century. Some 750,000 people in Scotland were without water as pipes froze and burst. Similar problems arose in Norway, in part due to the lack of insulating snow cover.
Any trend towards global warming cooled down a bit in the north central United States during the summer of 1992. July was the coolest on record in many cities from Montana to New England. The temperature at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, failed to reach 80°F all summer.
The month of January 1990 was the warmest January ever in the United States. But by contrast, the previous month, December 1989, was the fourth coldest since such statistics began to be tallied in 1895.
Winter temperatures in Finland from 1961 to 1990 have averaged 2°C colder than the long-term average.
Recent winters in the eastern United States have included some of the coldest and snowiest in memory.
